Get the right song in every level

Five minutes, once. After that, any level that uses a song from this site plays the correct track automatically — on PC and Android.

What is this

Some songs can't be uploaded to Newgrounds, so level creators pick a Newgrounds song as a stand-in and tell players to swap it for the real one. That swap is called a NONG (Not On NewGrounds).

This site hosts those real songs. You can download them yourself, but the easy way is Jukebox: a Geode mod that reads an index (a list saying “song ID X → this mp3”) and offers the swap for you inside the game.

Our index URL is https://gd.zxcinc.dev/jukebox-index.json — the only thing you need from this page.

1 · Install Geode

Geode is the mod loader that runs Jukebox. Skip this if you already have it (you'll see a Geode button on GD's main menu).

  1. Go to geode-sdk.org and download the Windows installer.
  2. Run it. It finds your Steam GD folder on its own — click Install.
  3. Launch Geometry Dash. A Geode button appears on the main menu.

2 · Install Jukebox

  1. Open the Geode menu and go to the Download tab.
  2. Search Jukebox (by Fleym) and press Install.
  3. Restart the game when Geode asks.

3 · Add the index

GeodeInstalledJukebox⚙ SettingsIndexes
  1. Copy the index URL:
  2. In Geode, open Installed, find Jukebox and press its settings (gear) button.
  3. Find Indexes, press Add, paste https://gd.zxcinc.dev/jukebox-index.json and confirm. Leave the two built-in indexes (Song File Hub and Auto Nong) on — they work alongside ours.
  4. Restart GD. Jukebox only downloads indexes when the game starts.

On a phone, long-press the text field to paste. If the URL is cut off, type it — it's all lowercase.

4 · Play a level

  1. Open any level that uses a song ID listed on the songs page.
  2. On the level's page, tap the song name (or the Jukebox disc button next to it). The Jukebox list opens.
  3. Our version shows up with a download button. Tap it — once it's done, tap the song to make it active.
  4. Play. The level now uses the real song, and Jukebox remembers it for every level with that ID.

To go back to the original Newgrounds song, open the same list and pick the default entry.

Manual download (no index)

Don't want to add an index? You can still use any song here by hand:

  1. On the songs page, press Download. The file is saved as <songID>.mp3.
  2. In GD, open the level, tap the song name to open Jukebox, press + / Add and pick the mp3 you downloaded.
  3. Select it. Done — same result, just without automatic updates.

Without Jukebox at all

Replace GD's cached copy of the song: put the downloaded <songID>.mp3 in GD's song folder, overwriting the existing file.

  • PC: %LOCALAPPDATA%\GeometryDash
  • Android: GD's data folder isn't reachable without root on newer Android — use Jukebox instead.

GD may re-download the original if you clear song cache, so Jukebox is the reliable way.

For level creators

  1. In the editor, set your level's song to the song ID shown on the songs page (tap the ID to copy it).
  2. In your level description, tell players: Song: gd.zxcinc.dev.
  3. Players with our index get offered the right song automatically; everyone else hears the Newgrounds stand-in.

Want a song added for your level? Ask in the zxcinc Discord with the song, the song ID you're using, and your level ID.

FAQ

I added the index but the song doesn't show up

Restart GD fully — indexes load on startup. Then check the level really uses the song ID listed here (it's shown on the level page).

The song is out of sync

Make sure you picked our entry, not a different remix from another index. If it's still off, tell us in Discord and we'll fix the offset in the index.

Does this work on mobile?

Yes — Android through Geode Launcher works exactly like PC. The site itself works on any phone for downloading.

Will other players hear my song?

Only players who have Jukebox and our index (or downloaded the file). Everyone else hears the normal Newgrounds song for that ID.

Is it free?

Yes. No account, no ads, no limits.
